The story of this iconic shoe goes back to the 13th century in Spain and it’s popularity progressively grew through the years. The big  recognition as a fashion staple came  in the early 20th century when many movie stars and celebrities were photographed wearing them. From that point  the espadrille  became a true must have and a summer staple with a very strong presence in fashion in  the decades that  followed.

Balmain+H&M The Collaboration Of The Titans

Two of the biggest names in fashion made it official. H&M announced its next collaboration and its a big deal. This time they are coming with a Bang!!! by partnering with the epitome of french luxury brand Balmain. All of it was revealed at the Billboard Music Awards when the designer Oliver Rausteing showed few of the pieces on models Jourdan Dunn and Kendall Jenner.

“We are exited to have Balmain as our guest designer at H&M and create a truly involving experience for everybody. With its mix of couture spirit and streetwear attitude , Balmain owns a unique style, at once opulent and direct, sensual and energetic. It is also closely linked to the show business and music worlds, witch adds another element of surprise,” says Ann-Soffie Johansson, Creative Advisor at H&M.

The collection will be available starting November 5th in 250 stores worldwide and online.
